Simple Energy signs MoU for lithium-ion batteries

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle start-up Simple Energy has signed a MoU with US-based battery maker C4V for setting up a lithium-ion cell manufacturing facility for cells in India.

The strategic partnership is expected to explore the potential of C4Vs P-, N-, S-series battery and LiSER (Lithium Slim Energy Reserve) tech, which claims to offer better safety, higher energy density than LFP, fast-charging and longer lifecycle based on patented technology.

Simple Energy says its upcoming two- and four-wheeler products will leverage C4V's technology.

Shreshth Mishra, co-founder, Simple Energy said, “By partnering with C4V, we will consolidate cell supply, which is a vital component for us. This strategy also makes us more self-reliant and reduces our dependency on imports.”

Furthermore, Mishra explained that the partners will together work on R&D to make cells safer for batteries taking all the parameters such as temperature variations, different road, driving conditions and in accordance will manufacture cells that would be used in battery packs.

Kuldeep Gupta, VP – Strategic Partnership, C4V added, “C4V is looking forward to this strategic collaboration, thereby supporting the development of the EV industry in India.”
