Sandhar inks tech collaboration with Lyssen Enterprises of Taiwan

New Delhi, May 27, 2013: Close on the heels of its technical collaboration with Jinyoung Electro-Mechanics Company Ltd (JEM Techno) of South Korea for manufacturing automotive relays for the Indian market earlier this year, Sandhar Technologies Ltd has followed it up with another technical tie-up with Lyssen Enterprises Co. Ltd of Taiwan. This collaboration is for manufacturing instrument clusters, case gauges and senders.

Sandhar inks tech collaboration with Lyssen Enterprises of Taiwan

New Delhi, May 27, 2013: Close on the heels of its technical collaboration with Jinyoung Electro-Mechanics Company Ltd (JEM Techno) of South Korea for manufacturing automotive relays for the Indian market earlier this year, Sandhar Technologies Ltd has followed it up with another technical tie-up with Lyssen Enterprises Co. Ltd of Taiwan. This collaboration is for manufacturing instrument clusters, case gauges and senders.

Lyssen Enterprises, founded in 1973 and located at Taoyuan, Taiwan, specialises in customised instrument clusters, case gauges and senders for automotive, agricultural machinery, generators, ATVs, EVs, marine and special purpose vehicles.

Lyssen’s R&D team has developed a wide range of proprietary technologies and provides consultancy services in specialised areas of instrumentation industry. It has also obtained over 100 patents in the Taiwan, US, Germany, China, Mexico, Italy, Spain, Japan and UK.

“Lyssen is a recognised player in customised instrument clusters,
case gauges and senders. This relationship with Lyssen will help us to offer the latest technology and aesthetics to the automotive industry,” said Jayant Davar, founder, co-chairman and managing director of the Sandhar Group.

Sandhar will put up production lines for instrument clusters and senders initially at its Gurgaon plant and then add other locations for it. Paul Liu, chairman, Lyssen Enterprises Co, said: "We havebeen working with customers in Europe, US, Japan, China and Taiwan but somehow we had not reached India. This relationship with Sandhar will help us to bring our expertise into India. We look forward to working with the Indian OEMs through our relationship with Sandhar and see our designs on Indian vehicles.”

The $ 300 million Sandhar Group has 25 manufacturing plants with subsidiaries in Spain and Poland. Sandhar manufactures lock kits, mirrors, handles, latches, hinges, stamped and tubular components, plastic injected components, zinc and aluminium pressure die castings, operator cabins, canopies, housings, panels, switchboards, control cabinets, moulds, dies and structural parts for off highway vehicles. It has a separate vertical which focuses on supplies of steel wheel rims and assemblies, handle bars, clutch and brake panels to the two wheeler manufacturers.
