Safexpress opens park in Salem

SAFEXPRESS PVT LTD inaugurated its ultra-modern logistics park in Salem on October 9. This is the company’s second launch in the Southern region, after its logistics park in Chennai. Speaking on the occasion Vineet Kanaujia, GM – marketing, said, “Salem is a very crucial location from the point of view of distribution connectivity of Southern India with the rest of the country. Proximity to the existing and proposed manufacturing units and SEZs, accessibility to consumer markets, good geographical location and infrastructural development are various parameters that make Salem as one of the highest potential destinations for the Indian supply chain and logistics industry.” According to Kanaujia, “The demand for high-tech ultra-modern warehouses will grow exponentially in coming years. With the phasing out of Central Sales Tax (CST) by 2010, manufacturers will readily outsource their warehousing requirements to third parties. This will help them save costs and focus on their core business. Having envisaged this huge potential for providing warehousing support to customers, we have planned big ticket investments in warehousing at key industrial hubs across the country.”
