Renault launches Duster in Indonesia, plans local operation in 2015
September 19, 2013: Renault has announced plans to launch its products in the Indonesian market later this month, after signing a deal with distributor Indomobil.

The first model to be sold by the French carmaker will be the Dacia Duster, locally assembled by Indomobil. The Renault Koleos SUV and Mégane Renaultsport will follow. Renault will also launch tailor-made products for the Indonesian market from 2015.

Indomobil says it will develop a sales network of 45 showrooms by 2016. Indomobil, Nissan’s partner in Indonesia since 1981, has helped Nissan to attain market share of 6 percent to 67,000 units at the end of 2012.

Indonesia, which has 36 vehicles per 1,000 residents, is one of the most promising automobile markets in the world.
