May 2: Rajeev Dubey, president (Group HR & Aftermarket) and member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra & Mahindra, has been appointed national president of the Employers’ Federation of India (EFI), one of the bodies representing India at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Geneva which is also an important constituent of the tripartite Indian Labour Conference.
“As a distinguished member of corporate India and the HR fraternity, Rajeev Dubey will bring significant experience to his new role. I am sure he will endeavour to retain EFI's position as India's premier federation of employers, an apex body respected by all its stakeholders -- the trade unions, the government and the communities with which the member companies engage,” said Sharad Patil, secretary general, Employers’ Federation of India.
An association of autonomous industry organisations, EFI is India’s premier federation of employers, an apex body which aims to protect, promote and champion the interests of industrial employees in the areas of industrial relations, labour problems and cognate matters.
Internationally, EFI represents Indian employers at the ILO in Geneva and is affiliated to the IOE (International Organisation of Employers) Geneva. EFI provides practitioners and experts with a platform in the IR/ER space for problem-solving and sharing of best practices. Some of the values EFI stands for include fairness, integrity, national interest, credibility and inclusiveness.
According to Dubey, the major task ahead for the EFI is to work with all its stakeholders (the government, unions, local communities and the ILO) to create an ecosystem which would not only make India globally competitive based on innovation and competitiveness but to also ensure fairness and equality for all concerned.
