Mumbai, October 17, 2012: Pioneer has launched its 2013 range of in-car entertainment music system featuring significant improvements over its 2012 range. This new range of products has been developed integrating advanced technologies available while also keeping in mind the growing needs of Indian customers.
An advanced version of Pioneer’s own DJ technology, the Mixtrax, is now being offered to a wider range of audio and video receivers from its new 2013 model range. Mixtrax technology allows users to create a non-stop mix of music library and with DJ effects. Pioneer has also introduced a new feature to the 2013 line-up, the Advance App Mode for the Audio Visual (AV) receivers. This feature allows users to control the applications from a compatible iPhone through the head-unit touch-screen and make use of applications such as Google maps, social media, emails, travel and navigation, Mixtrax, Youtube, Calendar and browsing of photographs from an external device.
Looking at recent market trends and based on customer feedbacks, Pioneer is now offering its double-DIN CD receivers and external digital media receivers at a more affordable price. Moreover, the 2013 head-unit line-up gets appealing displays and wider range of Bluetooth compatible models. Other features unique to the 2013 line-up include an anti-dust design that prevents dust particles from entering the music system, and an advanced sound retriever technology that restores the high-quality frequency sounds lost in the digital compression process, thereby ensuring enhanced sound quality.
Other than head-units and AV receivers, Pioneer has also introduced a new line-up of speakers, called Bullet. Their highlights include high sensitivity, high power handling, light weight and a rigid titanium diaphragm, a larger magnet and aluminium die-cast chassis.
Speaking at the launch in Mumbai, Toshiyuki Shindo, managing director of Pioneer India Electronics, said: “Pioneer has always been the frontrunner when it comes to technology and quality, and is renowned for its innovative products. Our aim at Pioneer is to innovate and design our products so as to cater to the changing and evolving needs of Indian customers.”
Founded in 1938, the Japanese music system major relies heavily on its in-car entertainment unit as it forms 62 percent of its total volumes. Pioneer’s home entertainment business accounts for 28 percent, while the remaining 10 percent is new business. Pioneer’s consolidated net sales for FY2012 stands at 436.8 billion Yen (Rs 29,265 crore) and as per an internal study, Pioneer enjoys a healthy 35 percent share in the aftermarket business.
