Piaggio extends support in Pune and Baramati to tackle Covid-19 pandemic
PVPL is providing monthly ration kits to 1000 migrant labourers, setting up isolation centres
In the wake of the global pandemic, Piaggio Vehicles (PVPL), a 100 % subsidiary of the Italian Piaggio Group will be providing support through multiple initiatives to the local administration in Pune and Baramati.
PVPL is arranging free supplies of ration kits to nearly 1000 migrant labourers to ensure basic food security for a month in the Baramati MIDC area. It has also partnered with an NGO ‘New Vision’ and distributed ration kits to the migrant construction workers in Pune.
That apart, PVPL in association with an NGO ‘United Way Mumbai’ is providing infrastructure support to Pune’s Sassoon Government hospital. Under this initiative, PVPL is providing personal protective equipment (PPE) kits and installing sanitisation infrastructure at the hospital.
Since PVPL’s factory is in Baramati, the company is also closely working with the local government authorities. The Company is setting up an isolation center there and has also started procuring medical equipment like ECG machines, ICU beds, pulse oximeter and PPE kits needed for the isolation center.
