Myanmar is the new focus growth area for Tata Motors, which recently displayed its vehicles there. The government of India is giving a line of credit to the manufacturer, which is also looking to set up an assembly plant in Myanmar. The plan is to start with three-axle trucks, and later look at buses and small commercial vehicles.
Meanwhile, in the Indian market, tippers and tractor-trailers will be joining the Prima range of trucks. They are likely to roll out in the first quarter of this year. Prima trucks are notching good sales, both in terms of fleets and single orders. Till now, over 1,000 Prima trucks have been sold.
