Michelin India’s Tyreplus and Truck Services Centre network gets ISO 9001:2008 certification
Mumbai, September 17, 2013: Michelin Tyres has been awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 certification for its network of Tyreplus and Michelin Truck Service Centres (MTSC) across India. With this certification, Michelin Tyres becomes the largest certified tyre-related services network in India.
Mumbai, September 17, 2013: Michelin Tyres has been awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 certification for its network of Tyreplus and Michelin Truck Service Centres (MTSC) across India. With this certification, Michelin Tyres becomes the largest certified tyre-related services network in India.
The ISO 9001:2008 certification is awarded to companies that can demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable requirements, placing customer satisfaction as a key component of those requirements.
According to Thom Clark, managing director, Michelin India Tyres, “We are committed to India for a longer run and the ISO 9001:2008 certification is a step towards assuring our customers of standardised and quality services across all Tyreplus and MTSC stores in the country. At Michelin, customer service has always been a focus area and this certification is an important step in this direction. This certification will help Michelin increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the Tyreplus and MTSCs network through continual improvement in systems and services quality.”
The certification was carried out by one of the largest international independent and renowned risk management and certification company, Det Norske Veritas.
Prakash Tikare, country manager, Business Assurance, India and Sri Lanka, DNV, said: “Globally Michelin is well known for its excellent service quality and standards. With the ISO 9001:2008 certification in India, the company is poised to create an industry benchmark to deliver excellence in quality of customer service through its network of concept stores of MTSC and Tyreplus spread across India.”
Currently, Michelin has a network of 13 MTSCs and 23 Tyreplus outlets across India. The ISO certification ensures enhanced customer convenience by delivering tyre related services (such as wheel alignment, wheel balancing, puncture repair) at the highest level of professionalism and providing support functions to meet and exceed customer expectations.
