With an intention to increase its footprint in India, Michelin India Tyres has now begun supplying the Energy MXV8 tyre to the Honda Accord V6.
Michelin India, the global tyre maker, is already an OE supplier to two other Honda models — Civic and the New City (Energy MXV8 and Energy XM1). Under this partnership, Honda Motors and Michelin are stepping up their relationship in India.
According to Jean Paul Caylar, chief executive officer, Michelin in India, “This deal is an integral part of our long-term strategy for the Indian market and also reinforces our ongoing relationship with Honda.”
Adds Caylar, “The Michelin Energy MXV8 tyre will match the performance of the rest of our Energy tyre series, and will bring to customers the best overall performance in terms of safety, low-noise level and better fuel efficiency”.
The Energy MXV8 is Michelin’s best-selling tyre and is designed for cars in the midsize segment. Adds T Natsume, director, sales and marketing, Honda Siel Cars India, “Choosing Michelin Tyres as our OE partner for the Accord V6 further enhances our confidence in the company. From this partnership, we are confident of having many more satisfied customers, as in case of the Civic and the new City.”
