Mercedes-Benz India targets emerging markets, opens new 3S dealership in Aurangabad

The inauguration is an indication that the company is bullish about the emerging tier-II and III markets for the luxury segment.

Luxury car market leader Mercedes-Benz India is driving ahead with its network expansion strategy by making inroads into the Tier 2 market of Aurangabad. Earlier today, the company inaugurated Indisch Motoren in Aurangabad, which is one of the emerging markets in Maharashtra.

The dealership, spread across 20,000 square feet and 4-car display space and 7 dedicated service bays, was inaugurated by Michael Jopp, vice-president, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India and Om Moharir, director, Indisch Motoren.

The service facility, which has 20 professionally trained staff, is equipped to cater to the entire range of Mercedes-Benz cars, and has a body and paint shop, can carry out major and minor repairs, and diagnosis with a qualified team of technicians and advisors.  The dealership also has an integrated ‘Café Mercedes’, a dedicated section for Mercedes-Benz accessories and merchandise, and a customer lounge.

Speaking at the dealership opening, Michael Jopp said, “Our focus on emerging Tier 2 markets like Aurangabad is going to play a significant role in our future growth story. We are looking at strategically expanding in the Tier 2 markets by offering world-class luxury dealerships, unique luxury elements, the best of products and exceptional customer service. Mercedes-Benz has set the benchmark in offering automotive luxury experiences to customers beyond the established metros."

Mercedes-Benz India, which has recorded retail sales of 11,789 units in the January-September 2018. period, has the largest network of all the luxury carmakers in India, with a presence in 45 Indian cities through 94 outlets. Through the exclusive AMG Performance Centers located in 7 cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kochi, Chennai and Pune, the AMG performance sub-brand of Mercedes-Benz also boasts of a strong retail network presence.
