Maruti annual net profit is up 31 percent

Maruti Udyog registered a total income of Rs 152,523 million (net of excise) during fiscal 2006-07, a growth of 22.2 percent over the previous year. Profit before tax went up to Rs 22,798 million in 2006-07, a growth of 30.3 percent over last year. Meanwhile, the company’s net profit stood at Rs 15,620 million, which rose 31.4 percent over fiscal 2005-06.

During the January-March 2007, period, total income (net of excise) was Rs 46,347 million, which represented a growth of 36.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Net Profit in the fourth quarter stood at Rs 4,486 million, up 24.3 percent over January-March 2006. At the same time, the Board also recommended a dividend of 90 percent (Fiscal: 2005-06: 70 percent).
