Mahindra Two Wheelers enters Latin America with Centuro, Pantero, Duro DZ
Mumbai, September 19, 2013: Mahindra Two Wheelers has officially announced its foray into the Latin American market with Duro DZ, Pantero and Centuro motorcycles.
Mumbai, September 19, 2013: Mahindra Two Wheelers has officially announced its foray into the Latin American market with Duro DZ, Pantero and Centuro motorcycles. The products were unveiled in Nicaragua on August 20 and in Guatemala City on August 23.
According to Viren Popli, executive vice-president, Mahindra Two Wheelers, “International business is a key component of our growth strategy and we are pleased to venture into the Latin American market which is among the fastest growing markets in the world. Mahindra is a recognised name in Latin America where it sells its range of vehicles and we have strong local partners who are committed to ensure customer satisfaction and volume growth in these markets.”
Sandeep Singh, senior general manager and head – Exports, Mahindra Two Wheelers, added, “With these launches, we have initiated operations in 11 markets spread across South Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America.”
The company says it is currently establishing essential infrastructure comprising a sales, service and spares set up and SKD (semi-knocked down) assembly facilities in Guatemala City and Managua, besides a network of dealers in both countries.
Mahindra Two Wheelers has also started operations in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, where it has also set up assembly units, recently.
Central and Latin America are slowly drawing Indian automakers, particularly two-wheeler manufacturers. Earlier this year, in May, Hero MotoCorp had announced its entry into the markets of Guatemala City, El Salvador and Honduras in Central America. In August, it made its foray into Peru.
