Mahindra Two Wheelers rolls out refreshed Centuro

by Autocar Pro News Desk 26 Aug 2014

Mahindra Two Wheelers has introduced a new refreshed version of its 106.7cc Centuro commuter bike, the ‘Rockstar’. The Rockstar will continue to get features such as a flip-open key, LED-powered headlight and tail-light, and alloy wheels as standard.

The Rockstar comes with a built-in anti-theft mechanism that immobilises the engine if intrusion is detected. Another unique system is that the bike's lights can be switched on using the ignition key, which will mostly get a button-like mechanism, to help locate the motorcycle in a crowded parking lot.

The Centuro Rockstar gets the same four-stroke, 106.7cc, single-cylinder and air-cooled engine which develops 8.4bhp at 7500rpm.

The Rockstar, priced at Rs 44,558 (ex-showroom, Pune), will be available in two colours, black and metallic red, paired with a combination of red, black and gold graphics.

Commenting on the company’s latest product, Viren Popli, chief of operations, Mahindra Two Wheelers, said: “With the launch of the Centuro Rockstar, we now have a full range of truly differentiated motorcycles, each of which delivers a tremendous value proposition as part of the Centuro brand. Each Centuro now addresses a different consumer sub-segment in the large 100/110cc category.”
