The Mojo develops maximum power of 27bhp at 8000rpm and maximum torque of 3kgm at 5500rpm.

After unveiling it in the Auto Expo 2010, Mahindra Two Wheelers has finally launched its much-awaited entry-level sports tourer Mojo in India at an introductory price of Rs 158,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Launched simultaneously in New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune, the Mojo will be available in three colour variants across 10 select dealerships in the first phase.

Equipped with a 300cc engine with double overhead camshaft, low friction piston and rings, advanced EFI and twin exhausts, the Mojo develops maximum power of 27bhp at 8000rpm and maximum torque of 3kgm at 5500rpm.

The Mojo also boasts of other premium features like Pirelli tyres, inverted front fork suspension, twin LED headlamps and tail-lamp and the best-in-class 21-litre tank.

Commenting on the launch, Pawan Goenka, executive director, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, "It (Mojo) has been developed in-house, with inputs from global partners and is designed to be on par with global products in this class. The Mojo leverages deep consumer insights to serve many distinct needs of passionate biking enthusiasts. Testimony to this is the fact that we already have 100 invite-based pre-bookings for the Mojo.”

From what we know of the ride of the Mojo by our sister publication Autocar India, the motorcycle has a torquey engine, great tyres and an overall comfortable ride that make it a decent entry level sports tourer. Coupled with all this, its distinctive looks and an attractive price-tag is what could help it find a place in a market populated by the KTMs and the Hondas.
