Mahindra TUV300 and KUV100 cross 50,000 unit sales milestone
Launched within months of each other, both the TUV300 and the KUV100 have crossed the 50,000 sales mark in the domestic market.
The TUV300, Mahindra & Mahindra’s first ground-up attempt at the sub-four-metre SUV segment, and the KUV100, the company’s first petrol-engined model, have both crossed the 50,000 unit sales mark in the domestic market.

Launched in September 2015, the TUV300 is underpinned by the new Scorpio’s chassis, and the strength and toughness that comes from using a traditional body-on-ladder-frame construction is its USP in a segment full of car-like monocoque crossovers. In fact, the ‘T’ in TUV stands for ‘Tough’. It also benefits from a cost-effective Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), which is a first for Mahindra, and also a first for an SUV in India.
In the September 2015-March 2017 period, the TUV300 has sold a total of 50,438 units as per Autocar Professional’s analysis.
Meanwhile, the KUV100, launched in January 2016 in a highly competitive segment, has sold a total of 50,288 units, as per a statement from M&M today. In the December 2015 to March 2017 period, the KUV100 had sold a total of 49,908 units comprising 23,862 diesel variants and 26,046 petrol variants. The 50,000 sales mark was crossed in the first few days of April 2017.

Commenting on the sales milestone, Rajan Wadhera, president, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra (pictured above with the new-look, dual-tone KUV100), said, “The KUV100 has created an all-new SUV segment in the price range of Rs 4.5 to 7 lakh. It combines the appeal of an SUV and the practicality of a compact car, making it a compelling value proposition for buyers. The recent introduction of the new-look, dual-tone KUV100 has also resonated well with our customers and going forward, I am sure that the KUV100 will continue to scale new heights.”
