Mumbai, January 28: Mahindra & Mahindra has launched an initiative for young transport entrepreneurs.
Mpower, a 14-day management development program designed to meet the needs of young transport entrepreneurs with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad as the Knowledge Partner. The entire course content has been developed ground-up through participation of young transporters who have shared their concerns and spelled out their knowledge needs for running their existing business through their own vision for the future.
Speaking on the occasion, Nalin Mehta, CEO and managing director, Mahindra Navistar Automotives, said, “The main objective of Mpower is to help professionalise the Indian trucking industry through management development Initiatives for the next generation of entrepreneurs. This is a great opportunity for young transport entrepreneurs to take maximum advantage through this initiative.This is a tool that would help shape their vision for tomorrow’s challenges, so that they are empowered to take their business forward with state-of-the-art know how. This program is specially designed by and will be conducted by IIM-Ahmedabad. IIMA has designed the course module for the key stakeholders in the Trucking Ecosystem preparing them for tomorrow. It’s a long term sustainable initiative which is in line with Mahindra philosophy.”
The first Mpower programme has begun on January 23, 2013 and will conclude on February 5 with the first batch of 30 Youth Transport Entrepreneurs. The programme includes field visits, external workshops and special guest lectures by industry experts.
