Mahindra to launch Verito Vibe tomorrow
Mumbai, June 4, 2013: Mahindra & Mahindra’s sub-four-metre version of the Verito, the Vibe makes its debut tomorrow. Spy pictures that Autocar India, our sister publication, obtained suggested that the Vibe is a hatchback, but it's in fact a compact saloon -- the boot is hinged not at the roof, but at the bottom of the rear windscreen. Mahindra has given the Vibe a two-box appearance instead of the ‘chopped saloon’ look like the Indigo eCS and the Dzire.

Power will come from the same Renault’s K9K 1.5-litre diesel engine that currently does duty in the Verito. With an aggressive price, the Vibe could well have an impact on M&M’s passenger car foray and bring in the numbers as the car will target the likes of the Maruti Swift and Ritz, Ford Figo diesel and the Chevrolet Sail UV-A.
There will be no petrol engine option for the Vibe as M&M doesn't currently have a petrol engine that would qualify for the sub-four-metre excise benefits. The Verito Vibe could be priced around Rs 5.30 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base model.
