LML trademarks Star, Hyperbike names for EV market foray
LML has announced its return to the Indian market as an EV manufacturer and is gearing up to launch electric two-wheelers.
LML, once a part of the Indian IC engine-two-wheeler story, aims to re-enter the market but with electric power. The company, which is gearing up to launch its EVs soon, has registered two names and as per the latest trademark documents that have surfaced, LML has registered ‘Star’ and ‘Hyperbike’.
While LML Star could be what the electric scooter will be called, the LML Hyperbike is likely its =electric motorcycle. However, this is only in the realm of speculation, and it remains to be seen what the final production EVs are named.
LML, which is planning to make a comeback with a line-up of EVs, had previously stated that it plans to invest around Rs 1,000 crore over the next 3-5 years.
When launched, LML’s EVs will go up against models from Hero Electric, Ola Electric, Ather Energy, Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor Co and Okinawa Autotech in the Indian market.
