Kia India despatched 23,323 units from its factory to dealers in the month of October, therefore registering a notable 43 percent year-on-year growth compared to 16,331 units sold in October 2021. The company also touched the 2,00,000 sales mark in the January-October period, with two months still to spare in the ongoing calendar year. Kia India’s sales in the first 10 months of CY21 stood at 1,81,583 units.

The Kia Seltos midsize SUV remained the top seller and went home to 9,777 buyers, whereas the Sonet and Carens registered sales of 7,614 units and 5,479 units, respectively. The Kia Carnival, on the other hand, sold 301 units and Kia India also commenced deliveries of its flagship EV6 — EV crossover — to customers. A total of 152 units of this all-electric crossover that comes priced between Rs 59.95 lakh and Rs 64.95 lakh, ex-showroom, went home to buyers.

The company mentioned in a statement that the strong demand during the festive season is giving an impetus to its momentum in the Indian passenger vehicle market. According to Hardeep Singh Brar, vice president and head of sales and marketing, Kia India, “The demand that all Kia products have managed to generate in the Indian market, signifies exciting times for the brand. It tells us that our product strategy was right on point since the very beginning. We have already crossed the two-lakh sales mark in CY22 and with two months remaining, we are confident of ending the year on an unprecedented high.”

“With consistent strong sales for successive months throughout the year, Kia India has truly established itself as a force to reckon with in the Indian automobile industry. A 35 percent year-on-year YTD growth over 2021 shows the growing affinity for Indian consumers for the Kia brand. A strong market response to EV6 shows the strength of brand Kia in the premium and luxury space as well,” he added.
