JLR sales up 10 percent in October 2012

November 15: Jaguar Land Rover sold 25,176 vehicles in October 2012, an increase of 10 percent from a year ago. The two brands retailed 294,291 vehicles in the first 10 months of 2012, up 35 percent compared to the same period a year ago. October sales were up in all major markets apart from the USA, which was impacted by Hurricane Sandy in the last week of October as well as in anticipation of new 2013 model year products for Jaguar.
JLR’s saw increased sales in North America (up 15 percent), UK (up 21 percent), Europe (up 41 percent), China (up 78 percent) and Asia Pacific (up 38 percent).
October sales for Land Rover were 22,166 vehicles, up 3,235 units (17 percent) from 2011 with the Evoque, Range Rover Sport, Discovery, and Freelander all up. Since the start of the year, Land Rover has retailed 249,414 vehicles (up 41 percent). The all-new, high aluminium, Range Rover will go on sale to customers in December.

Jaguar sales for October were 3,010 vehicles, down 929 units (24 percent) primarily due to the impact of the hurricane in the USA and in advance of the introduction of the 2013 Model Year XF and XJ model ranges across all major markets later this year. New products include the XF Sportbrake and all-wheel drive and smaller engine options in the XF and XJ.
For the January-October 2012 period, Jaguar delivered 44,877 vehicles, up 8 percent from a year ago, reflecting the strong performance of the Jaguar XF.
