Jawa, Jawa Forty Two get rear disc brake and ABS

Following feedback from potential customers, and the internet at large, Classic Legends has launched both, the Jawa and Jawa Forty Two, with a rear disc brake and ABS at an additional cost of around Rs 9,000. The rear disc plus dual-channel ABS-equipped Jawa has been priced at Rs 1.73 lakh, while the similarly-equipped Jawa Forty Two will set you back by Rs 1.64 lakh. The standard, rear-drum equipped models, meanwhile, continue to be priced at Rs 1.64 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh, respectively.

Classic Legends has said that a customer who has already made an online booking will be able to opt for dual-channel ABS on the website soon, without affecting the booking sequence. However, due to the late availability of the ABS variants, the deliveries will begin after June 2019. The priority of delivery will be as per the queue within the dual-channel ABS subset of the overall bookings.

In every other aspect, the Jawas remain the same as before with a 293cc, single-cylinder engine that develops 27hp and 28Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed gearbox. The chassis is an all-new double cradle unit and is suspended on a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers with gas-charged canisters. The bikes ride on spoke wheels wrapped in a 90/90-18 tyre at the front and a 120/80 17 tyre (both with tubes) at the rear.

The company has also announced multiple finance schemes and a new exchange programme that leverages Mahindra First Choice Wheels' used vehicle sales platform.
