Hyundai Motor India’s i20 models drives past a million sales globally
The i20 model range has seen success both in India and in global markets, helping Hyundai Motor India reach a million sales since the car's launch in 2008.
Hyundai Motor India, the country’s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter, has announced that its premium i20 compact hatchback has achieved a million units in global sales.
Commenting on the landmark, Y K Koo, managing director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India, said, “Reaching this historic mark is a testament to the Hyundai i20’s staying power and the global appeal of a vehicle that delivers sporty design, functionality and class-leading performance. We are extremely delighted that i20 models have achieved this milestone of one million global sales and met the aspirations of Indian and global customers.”
The i20, with its fluidic sculpture design, was launched in India in 2008 and since then the model has regularly made it to the top 10 sales chart each month.
