Hyundai Motor India elevates key personnel in sales and production functions

While Rakesh Srivastava is now director (Sales & Marketing), Ganesh Mani S stands promoted to senior VP (production) and Vikas Jain to assistant vice-president (sales).

Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice-president (Sales & Marketing), has been elevated to director (Sales & Marketing), Hyundai Motor India.

Hyundai Motor India has made some major changes in its senior leadership team. Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice-president (Sales & Marketing), has been elevated to director (Sales & Marketing), while Ganesh Mani S, vice-president (Production) has been made senior vice-president. Vikas Jain, senior general manager (Sales), is now assistant vice-president (sales). The promotions are effective April 1, 2017.

Announcing the changes, Y K Koo, CEO and managing director, Hyundai Motor India, asked the team to intensify its excellent work by providing leadership towards Hyundai India's "long-term vision of achieving market leadership, being the most beloved and trusted brand, providing a modern premium brand and in due process evolving as a great place to work".

In terms of India sales, the Korean carmaker crossed half-a-million ​units for the first time in a fiscal​. In 2016-17​, it sold 5,09,707 vehicles, recording a growth of 5.2 percent​ year on year​ (2015-16: 484,324).​ ​In March 2017, Hyundai India sold 44,757 units, up 8.6 percent on-year (March 2016: 41,201), thanks to the continuing upbeat response for the Grand i10 as well as the Elite i20.

On the export front, the company continues to be the No. 1 player. In 2016-17, the company shipped a total of 167,120 vehicles, up 3.02 percent YoY.
