January 30, 2014: Hyundai Motor has received international recognition for its vehicle design at the prestigious ‘iF Design Awards 2014’ ceremony, held in Munich, Germany.
The all-new Genesis luxury saloon won the ‘iF Product Design Award 2014’ award in the ‘Transportation design / special vehicles’ category.
The carmaker says the award for the Genesis underscores Hyundai’s global policy of building the right cars for the right regions. The exterior design shows an evolved interpretation of the fluidic sculpture design philosophy – a long wheelbase and short overhangs. Inside, high levels of technology and equipment confirm its commitment to delivering value beyond expectations.
Peter Schreyer, president and chief design officer at Hyundai Motor Company, commented: “Recognition from the iF jury is further evidence of the transformation in Hyundai design in recent years. My vision for the brand is to create more connections with our customers. Design is the ultimate expression of a brand
and its values, it establishes the connection. The all-new Genesis, which takes the evolved design of Hyundai models and shows how it can translate across segments, is already connecting to Europeans on an emotional level.”
The winners of the 61st edition of the annual awards are assessed by an international jury of experts. Organised by International Forum Design GmbH (iF), the awards set out to recognise outstanding design across three categories: product, packaging and communications.
