Hyosung sells 145 Aquila Pros in two months
Mumbai, March 13, 2013: Korean bike maker Hyosung has managed to sell 145 units of its Aquila Pro – a 5-lakh rupee 650cc cruiser motorcycle, in India.
Mumbai, March 13, 2013: Korean bike maker Hyosung has managed to sell 145 units of its Aquila Pro – a 5-lakh rupee 650cc cruiser motorcycle, in India. The motorcycle was launched on 16th January. Commenting on this recent development Mr. Shirish Kulkarni- Director, DSK Motowheels said “We had the first mover’s advantage in the 650 CC segment. The other thing which played to our advantage was the timely delivery of the bikes, which were delivered within one week of being booked.”
The sales perfiormance of the bikes also reflects the growing customer base for premium cars and bikes. Hyosung plans to be a key player in the Indian motorycyle market of 250-650 cc segment. Its Indian partner -- DSK, expects to invest up to Rs. 400 crore in the venture, most of which will be invested in the planned assembly plant in Lonand, near Pune. Assembly operations are planned to start in October or November of this year. The plant will start with the assembly of the 650 cc bikes, followed by the 250s two or three months thereafter.
DSK-Hyosung is also planning to launch 125cc and 150cc motorcycles in India.
