HSCI appoints Hironori Kanayama as president & CEO
April 3: Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) has announced the appointment of Hironori Kanayama as the president and CEO and Shigeru Yamazaki as senior vice-president and director, sales & marketing with effect from April 1.
April 3: Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) has announced the appointment of Hironori Kanayama as the president and CEO and Shigeru Yamazaki as senior vice-president and director, sales & marketing with effect from April 1.
Hironori Kanayama has been associated with Honda Motor Company for over three decades and has been involved with Honda ventures in markets like China, Taiwan and Japan. He has considerable China market experience where he was the president of Guangqi Honda Automobile Co (April 2009 to March 2011); general manager at Honda’s China operation (from October 2007); and president of Honda Automobile (China) from September 2003.
Commenting on his appointment, Kanayama said: “India is one of the most dynamic economies and among the fastest growing automobile markets in the world. It remains an extremely important territory for our future growth. We have ambitious plans to grow our operations in India. With normal production resuming at our Greater Noida plant from February 2012, we have registered the best ever monthly sales of 11,016 units.”.

Shigeru Yamazaki, who has been appointed senior VP and president & director – sales & marketing, HSCI, is also an old Honda hand, having been associated with the carmaker for close to 30 years. He was the general manager of the Automobile Business Division, Asian Honda Motor Co since 2009.
