Honda’s July production in Asia sets record; slide continues at Japan

August 28, 2013: July was a special month in the history of Honda Motor Co. The Japanese carmaker produced 122,178 vehicles in its plants in Asia, and produced the highest ever volume of 93,262 vehicles for the month of July in the USA. What is also noteworthy is that production in its home market – Japan – continues to slide year-on-year for the eight consecutive month. In contrast, production levels in Asia grew year-on-year for the 18th consecutive month.

Worldwide production, though, dropped year-on-year for three months in a row, reflecting the tough business conditions in various markets. Exports from Japan also fell year-on-year for the 13th month in July.
