Honda Amaze breezes past the 30,000 unit sales mark
New Delhi, August 29, 2013: Honda India has announced that it has achieved a new sales milestone with the delivery of 30,000 Amaze compact saloons in the country. The carmaker claims that the Amaze is the fastest of any of its models to clock 30,000 sales in the company’s history in India.

The waiting period for the sub-4-metre saloon is around three to four months. To meet demand and reduce the time customers have to wait for, the carmaker had, in July, announced that it plans to introduce an additional shift at its Greater Noida facility – where it claims to produce around 440 cars daily – from November onwards. The added shift at its factory is expected to help Honda reduce the waiting period for the Amaze by at least two months.

Speaking of the milestone, Jnaneswar Sen, senior vice-president, marketing and sales, Honda Cars India, said, “The Honda Amaze was conceptualised, produced and marketed as a family car for the evolving India. We are ecstatic with the overwhelming response received for the Amaze since the launch and are delighted having delivered 30,000 Amaze cars to our customers. The Amaze was developed following extensive surveys in India on customer’s needs and requirements, setting new benchmarks in the industry in terms of design, packaging, cabin comfort, and fuel-efficiency. Aggressive localisation of more than 90 percent in the Amaze has helped us price it competitively. We are very happy that the Amaze has created a fresh excitement in the market and is being appreciated as customer’s proud, easy-to-use and most comfortable sedan.”

Honda Cars India has also stated that it plans to strengthen its existing dealership network and wants to tap into newer markets to cater to a wider customer base in India. It currently has a sales and distribution network of 154 facilities in 98 cities and is further strengthening its aftersales network in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities to 162 outlets in 102 cities during 2013-14.
