Hero MotoCorp raids spurious parts makers in New Delhi

Hero MotoCorp has successfully conducted raids, in conjunction with the Delhi Police, on a number of  manufacturers and traders of spurious parts in New Delhi.

In a series of action on September 30, the company under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner of Police & District Investigation Unit - Central Delhi Police (EOW), pursuant to the orders passed by the District Court, raided three firms – M/s Sehgal Auto Spares, M/s A.P. Auto and M/s Ankur Sehgal Automobiles –based at the Karol Bagh market of Delhi and seized more than 50,000 spurious spare parts, counterfeit labels and packaging materials.

Following the raids, an FIR has been registered at the Karol Bagh Police Station, New Delhi against three persons (owners/manager of these three establishments) who were arrested for violations to copyright and trademark laws. This is the second such raid conducted in Delhi since March 2016.

Earlier this year, Hero MotoCorp launched the ‘Fight Fake, Stay Safe’ initiative aimed at ensuring the safety of the vehicle and those riding it. Usage of genuine parts also goes a long way in curbing environmental pollution.

Hero MotoCorp says it is determined to continue this drive against unscrupulous traders selling counterfeit Hero spare parts and intends to take stringent action against such traders in the future.

Original Hero Genuine Parts (HGP) bear the Unique Parts Identification (UPI) code. Customers can confirm the genuineness of the part by sending the UPI code through an SMS on 9266171171. The company has over 6,000 customer touch-points across the country that help make genuine Hero spare parts easily available across the country.

Hero Genuine Part programme

Hero MotoCorp says it has a sharp focused approach towards developing its ‘Hero Genuine Part’ programme. These parts are also now supplied through Global Parts Center (GPC) in Neemrana, Rajasthan.

GPC blends a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility with cutting-edge systems that facilitates supply chain processes. Based on lean manufacturing systems, GPC is designed to have minimal manual intervention while significantly enhancing productivity. This technological marvel is understood to be a new industrial benchmark in the auto sector. It is equipped with an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) and automated packaging and sorting system apart from other new age concepts like Uni-Shuttle and Rail Guided Material movement systems controlled by on-line tracking of parts, through a customised and unique Warehouse management system.

Hero MotoCorp says it is committed to not only enhancing the customer experience through its products, parts and services but is also focused on reducing the total cost of ownership of a two-wheeler.The pursuit thus includes the costs of acquiring, installing, using, maintaining and replacing a product. As such, the entire HGP portfolio with highest quality standards is priced in an affordable manner to lower the parts replacement cost.
