Greaves launches ‘Ustad’ mini-tractor
Mumbai, April 15, 2013: The Greaves Farm Equipment Business of engineering company Greaves Cotton has launched its first mini – tractor called Ustad.
New Delhi, April 15, 2013: The Greaves Farm Equipment Business of engineering company Greaves Cotton has launched its first mini – tractor called Ustad. Greaves Ustad is an 11-12 HP entry level tractor targeted at the farming community with land holdings of 3-5 acres.
The Ustad has been designed primarily for multiple farming operations, such as haulage, cultivator, seed drill, pesticide sprayer and rotavator among others. The tractor is fitted with an emission-compliant, easily serviceable, economical and fuel-efficient Greaves G 600 W II engine with a low diesel consumption of 1 litre per hour. The 4-stroke direct injection single-cylinder engine offers a maximum torque of 32 Nm.
The new tractor features forward-reverse with eight forward and two reverse gears, completely sealed water-proof mechanical brakes and a pawl-and-ratchet-type locking arrangement as standard fitment. The tractor comes with a combination of synchromesh, constant and sliding mesh gear shifting with epicyclical planetary reduction gear that is suited for all agricultural operations and haulage. With a claimed minimum turning radius of 2.1 metres, the smallest in the industry, Greaves Ustad offers good manoeuvrability.
The mini-tractor offers a three-point linkage for attachment of various implements like plough, cultivator, and harrow seed drill and for movement of implements.
