Genio heads for SA, Lanka

Mahindra & Mahindra has announced the global rollout of the Mahindra Genio pick-ups. Developed for small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs), the Genio is powered by a 2.2. litre m-Hawk engine. The company will first export the vehicle to South Africa and Sri Lanka and then, to Africa and Australia.
“The Genio is ideal for both efficient cargo movement as well as luxurious cabin comfort for self travel,” said Pravin Shah, chief executive, International Operations (Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors), M and M. The vehicle complies with Euro 3 and 4 norms and will soon meet Euro 5 norms as well.
In terms of looks, the vehicle’s contours coupled with structured edges and the signature Mahindra front grille give this pickup a touch of elegance, the company said. The integrated roll-over bar adds to the Genio’s sporty look. A dashboard in rich granite finish with an array of convenient charging points, compliments the vehicle’s interiors. According to the company, the Genio is also the widest pickup in its category and coupled with its height, makes it a roomy offering in its category.
