Ford's new service plan

In order to boost sales Ford India has announced a new service offer called the Scheduled Service Plan (SSP) for the buyers of its Fiesta and Ikon models.

According to Nigel Wark, executive director- marketing, sales & services, Ford India, “SSP will initially be available for our Fiesta and Ikon range of models. We are working on such offerings for other Ford models as well.”

The new plan has come into effect from May 15 and costs Rs 8,400 and Rs 9,350 for the Fiesta petrol and diesel models respectively, for a period of two years or 40,000km whichever is earlier. Ford also offers schemes for 3 years/60,000km, 4 years/ 80,000km and 5 years/ 100,000km. The SSP can be availed by customers at Ford dealerships in 15 cities across the country.

The new scheme covers scheduled services, as well as engine oil change, fuel filter; oil filter, spark plug and air filter changes. However, it does not cover wear and tear parts, accident repair, tyres and mechanical and electrical failures.

Adds Wark, “The SSP scheme is aimed at offering easy maintenance and allowing the cost of periodic maintenance at specific intervals to remain unaffected by inflation, with the consumer making a one-time payment."
