Ford India celebrates Figo’s 3rd anniversary with limited edition model

Ford India celebrates Figo’s 3rd anniversary with limited edition model

New Delhi, March 4, 2013: On the third anniversary of its most successful compact hatchback, the Figo, Ford India has rolled out the limited Figo Celebration Edition in petrol and diesel versions.

Priced at Rs 415,999 for the petrol model, the limited edition diesel Figo’s sticker price starts at Rs 515,999 (ex-showroom Delhi). The limited edition model sports signature badging and has been co-created along with inputs from Figo owners and fashion designers Shantanu and Nikhil.

The Celebration Edition has enhanced features like a satellite navigation system, reverse park assist and rear spoiler. It is also fitted with limited edition seat covers and branded scuff plates in addition to existing Bluetooth technology and boot space. This model is available in diamond white colour. “The Figo already had smart features and we have added to it in this special edition. We think it will appeal to customers and will satisfy demand,” said Joginder Singh, president and managing director, Ford India, at the launch in New Delhi today.

First introduced in March 2010, the Figo which rolls out of the Chennai plant has till now sold 270,000 units in India and in 35 overseas markets. Ford India had launched a face-lifted version of the Figo last October with the base model which continues to be powered by a 1.2-litre Duratec petrol engine and a 1.4-litre diesel. The top trims of both petrol and diesel models are called Titanium and the limited edition model is based on this variant.

Meanwhile, Ford India’s domestic sales declined 44 percent 4,490 units in February 2013 compared to 8,035 units in February 2012. Its overall tally for the month, including exports, was 7,253 vehicles, with the Figo being the growth driver. The company’s exports comprised 2,763 units, up 16 percent from the 2,389 units sold in February 2012.
