Export Scorpios to use MtM gearshifters

Australian automotive company MtM has recently commenced supplies of automatic gearbox shifters to Mahindra & Mahindra. M&M will install them in Scorpios that will head to the US market.

MtM is a privately-owned Australian company that specialises in design and manufacture of complex automotive components. Its product range includes automatic and manual gear shifters, door checks, door handles, park brakes and other components that includes storage boxes, hood latches, interior lights, fuel and boot release, grip assists and washer nozzles.

MtM claims it has a track record of innovation in the use of plastics in auto shifters and other products which has resulted in greater design freedom and weight saving products for vehicle manufacturers.

MtM customers include General Motors, Ford Australia, Toyota Australia, General Motors (USA), Shanghai General Motors (China), Mahindra & Mahindra (India), Hella (Australia) and Autoliv (Australia). M&M plans to export the Scorpio to USA. The US is pre-dominantly an automatic transmissions market and MtM hopes to leverage its track record in successfully supplying automatic gearbox shifters to Australian vehicles exported to USA and its own understanding of the quality and technical requirements for the US market.
