eBay activates SMS based used car guide

eBay India Motors has launched a new service called the eBay PriceBook. The pricebook is a guide for used cars and bikes and can be accessed on the mobile.

According to Ambareesh Murty, Country Manager, eBay India, “The eBay PriceBook will empower all potential cars or bikes owners with trusted third party expert price advice. The price points on eBay PriceBook are updated regularly based on ongoing transactions on eBay and hence also takes case of any market volatility.

Estimates cite that 50 per cent of all cars and bikes sold in the country are used. eBay PriceBook puts the end consumer in the driver’s seat by providing them with up-to-date cars and bikes prices at the point of sale or purchase, giving consumers the confidence and negotiating power while making a decision.

eBay PriceBook is derived from the thousands of vehicles traded on the eBay Motors marketplace. Consumers can simply SMS to get the value of their used cars or bikes on their mobile phone, specific to their city, in a few seconds.

As the only price guide in the country, eBay PriceBook offers comprehensive coverage of most popular cars and bikes models manufactured since 2000, in fair, good and excellent condition and upto variant level.

The service is currently available for users of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. It can be used by sending a text SMS to 56070 to get the value of used cars or bikes on a user's mobile phone.
