Datsun to display Go Cross concept at Auto Expo
The Go-Cross concept is based on the same platform of the seven-seater Go+, but gets the addition of crossover styling such as raised ride height and body cladding.
Datsun will be showcasing its latest crossover concept, the Go-Cross at the Auto Expo 2016 in Delhi in February. The Go-Cross concept is based on the same platform of the seven-seater Go+, but gets the addition of crossover styling such as raised ride height and body cladding.
Unveiled in October 2015 at the Nissan Motor Corporation headquarters in Yokohama, Japan, the Go-Cross concept gets angular headlamps and high set fog-lamps along with LED lights mounted on the lower portion of the bumper. The front end styling is completed by Datsun’s trademark grille and a prominent skid plate. On the flanks, the model gets body cladding, roof rails, a rising window line, large alloy wheels and a raised ride height. Completing the crossover styling is a prominent rear bumper with body cladding, skid plate and a roof-mounted spoiler.
Mechanical details of the concept are yet to be revealed though it could feature the same 1.2-litre motor as the Go+.
At the time, Vincent Kobe, Global Head of Datsun, said that the company was planning to expand its offerings in India with a third model in early 2016 based on the CMF-A platform of the Renault Kwid. The car in question, the Redigo, has been testing for some time now on Indian roads though the company has yet to confirm if the car will be present at this year’s Auto Expo. In the last edition of the Auto Expo, Datsun showcased the concept version of its upcoming compact crossover, the Redigo.
