Chinese in-car multimedia major Caska, has launched the new Caska Reddrive Smart Series for the Indian automobile sector, in association with its India partner Auto Trendz.

The product is an all in one intelligent multimedia technology system for automobiles which will be available across India from June 2011 onwards through Auto Trendz’s 20 distributors and 200 dealers with price points varying between Rs 31990 – 49990. The product will also be available through inline fitment in several eminent automobile brands.

Caska targets to attain 50,000 Indian customers for its products by December 2011. Caska sold 20,000 units in 2010 in India, and claims that it has sold 15,000 units during January – April this year.

The India market is one of the largest markets in the world for car infotainment as the automobile industry in the country is one of the most rapidly growing industries and happens to be the ninth largest in the world. The car infotainment industry is valued at Rs. 100 cores and with this launch CASKA aims to gather 20 percent market share in the organized segment in India by 2011.

Caska’s Indian partner Auto Trendz says that Caska’s offerings are unique in the sense that it’s products are model specific, unlike universal designs from others. The model specific designs allow customers to change their factory fitted integrated system with a Caska unit without any modification in the wiring or electronics of the car and thereby enjoying warranty cover by the manufacturer.

Caska, which already supplies to GM in China, may start supplying to GM India to supply its products for factory fitment. It may also supply to Shanghai Atuomotive Indutry Corporation’s (SAIC) models when they are introduced in India next year.
