China pavilion showcases varied range of parts, accessories

New Delhi, February 7, 2013: One of the highlights of the ACMA Automechanika event is the large Chinese contingent, many of whom are in India for the first time. The exhibitor list has close to 30 companies from various parts of China displaying their products. These companies have on display a variety of products from wheel rims to halogen lamps for use in cars and two-wheelers, vehicle diagnostic products, slide bearings, rear parking sensors, piston rods and shock absorbers and even suspension parts for semi-trailers. Some stalls are selling accessories like small fans for car and truck interiors as well as seat covers.

Most of these companies are looking at hiring distributors in India for their products as well as displaying them to get inquiries. One of the stalls had a price list denominated in American dollars.

It would appear that more China-based companies are interested in the Indian auto sector than Indian companies whose number at shows like Automechanika Shanghai is a lot fewer. One of the likely problems that expo visitors will face is being able to communicate with those manning the stalls who aren’t familiar with English. One of India’s key advantages is people’s familiarity with English and it is to these Chinese companies’ credit that they have come to the trade fair in large numbers.
