Chevrolet rolls out new Tavera, Captiva

General Motors India is showcasing 15 production and concept vehicles at the Chevrolet stand under the Chevrolet Next, Chevrolet Technology & Innovation and Chevrolet Performance themes. “Our latest products offer industry-leading technology, performance and designs, as well as our environmentally friendly transport solutions in India for India,” said Lowell Paddock, the new president and MD of General Motors India.
At the Chevrolet Next section, GM has a range of new models that will be launched in India this year. They include the new Tavera Neo3, now available with a 2.5-litre direct injection insta-torque turbocharged engine (BS III) and an all-new 2.0-litre common-rail direct injection diesel BS IV engine. There’s also the new Captiva 2 powered by a 2.2-litre engine along with a six-speed automatic transmission. The stand also displays the all-new Sail hatchback, a new MPV and the Beat Diesel, among other models.
At its technology and innovation section, GM has highlighted its latest global and local advanced tech achievements with the Chevrolet Volt, the world’s first mass-produced electric vehicle with extended range technology, the Beat BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) and the EN-V (Electric Networked-Vehicle), a two-seat electric vehicle that weighs less than 500kg and is about 1.5 metres long. The body and canopy of the EN-V are constructed from carbon fibre, custom-tinted Lexan and acrylic, advanced materials known heir strength and lightweight characteristics. Keeping these green cars company is the Spark LPG.
Rounding off Chevrolet’s display is the Performance section which houses a range of performance products from GM including the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, Corvette Stingray Concept, and the Cruze Racing Car.
