Bosch sets up ECU reliability test unit

Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions (RBEI), the engineering and IT services subsidiary of Bosch in India, recently inaugurated its reliability testing centre at Naganathapura, Bangalore. It will help enhance the reliability of automotive components including electronic control units in varied environmental conditions.

It comes as a major boost for Indian industry as it addresses local market requirements. The RBEI/ECU department provides engineering services that cover mechanical design, reliability engineering and validation testing, project management for mechanical engineering and structural and thermal simulation. Emphasising the need for such a centre, Friedhelm Pickhard, managing director, RBEI, says: “This test centre is filling up the last gap in our local product development processes. With the availability of this facility, we are now able to develop products for our customers, right from the concept to the delivery stages, completely localised in India.”
