Bosch Automotive Aftermarket pursues massive network expansion, launches 125 service outlets in East India

Kolkata, January 18, 2013: Bosch Automotive Aftermarkets (AA) has launched over 125 service centres in East India today. The company had simultaneous inaugurations of all centres in a single day -- 18 in West Bengal, 24 in Guwahati, 30 in Bihar, 33 in Chattisgarh, 5 in Jharkhand and 17 in Orissa.

The move establishes Bosch Automotive Aftermarket’s aggressive plans for service network expansion across India through the service route. Aimed at bridging the large service network gap in the country, this expansion drive is in addition to the recent launch of 100 service centres in North India.

These state-of-the-art service centres will provide service to multi-brand vehicles across different segments of unit repair (Fuel Injection Systems, Auto Electrical Units) and entire vehicular repair. Reaching out to the needs of the entire automotive spectrum, the service outlets include BCS (Bosch Car Service – for in-depth diagnosis and consequent repair and service of passenger cars), ECS (Express Car Service – regular and quick car service needs of a customer), EBS (Express Bike Service – for 2-wheelers), BDS (Bosch Diesel Service – Unit repair workshops for Fuel Injection Equipment) and EM (Electric Module – for Auto Electrical repair and maintenance).

Bosch through its strategy of PARTS (a robust range of genuine vehicle spares), BYTES (Vehicle Diagnostics) and SERVICES (Workshop Concept and Training) has a dominant presence worldwide and offers comprehensive solutions pertaining to automotive systems and vehicle repair. The company has 16 training centres country-wide where the workshops have easy access to the latest technology know-how.

Bosch in India is among the largest service networks in technical unit repair (Fuel Injection Systems and Auto Electrical Units) and car service. In addition to over 2,500 workshops, EBS is a recent foray by Bosch into the two-wheeler segment service space.

Speaking on the announcement, S Muralidharan, regional president (Automotive Aftermarket), Bosch Ltd said, “We are extremely bullish on the growth of our business and believe that service as a category has a lot of potential which we can leverage and are hence robustly expanding our network. Through our aggressive expansion plan we wish to fill the vacuum in the automotive service space.”
