Bizol of Germany looks to enter India with its green oil products

New Delhi, February 8, 2013: Bizol, the German manufacturer of lubricants, is mulling entry into India with its green oil products for lubricating the engines of luxury saloons. The company is currently scouting for distribution partners in the country for its green oil synthesis for servicing both petrol and diesel-engined cars from manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Volvo and Toyota.

Bizol is showcasing three products at its stall:

Green Oil Synthesis 5W-40: This high-tech HC-synthesis motor oil provides very good corrosion protection and lubricates engine parts even under extreme conditions in city traffic.

Compatible SAE 5W-30: This modern HC-synthesis motor oil caters to Volkswagen engine needs and enhances high performance by reducing ash contents.

Injektor-Reiniger: This fuel additive is claimed to be a highly effective injector cleaner that improves continuous performance by cleaning and protecting all petrol injection systems, such as K, KE and L-Jetronic systems.

The green oil has been developed on the premise that a vehicle in the city faces more stop-and-go traffic and cold starts compared to long-distance driving due to the increasing vehicle parc. Alex Singer, Chief Sales Officer, told Autocar Professional that India, along with other Asian markets like those of China and Korea, offers great potential for green oil boosted by a burgeoning middle class population and a growing economy.

Green oil offers the advantages of lower fuel consumption and lower emissions besides reducing oil change intervals. Bizol oil is claimed to protect the engine from wear and tear within the oil change intervals recommended by car manufacturers due to less friction. As such, it dispenses with the need for constant oil change after every 5,000km in case of conventional oils, extending the change interval to almost 10,000-15,000km and in some cases even to 20,000km, thereby increasing the lifespan and safety of the engine.

However, the green oil is priced higher than market oils as it is manufactured at Germany and along with high manufacturing costs also has certain high performance additives that add to the cost.

Singer claims that Bizol is the first company to produce green oil globally and has so far been marketing a small amount of oil products in India for the industrial segment so far. This is the first time that it will cater to the automotive requirements in the country.
