Bajaj Auto sales take a hit in both domestic and export markets
The Pune based automaker reported a 2 per cent dip in total sales at 3,94,747 units for September 2022.
Bajaj Auto continued its downward spiral marking a 4 per cent drop in total two-wheeler sales last month to 3,48,355 units from 3,61,036 units in the same month last year, the company said in a regulatory filing.
The Pune based automaker reported a 2 per cent dip in total sales at 3,94,747 units for September 2022 as compared to sales of 4,02,021 vehicles in the same period a year ago.
The export front also witnessed a decline for Bajaj Auto. The company reported a 33 per cent drop in exports to 1,40,083 units from 2,09,673 units in the year-ago period.
The only silver lining for the two-wheeler maker was a decent spike of 13 per cent in commercial vehicle sales for September 2022 at 46,392 units as compared to 40,985 units on September 21.
According to analysis made by global management firm Jeffries, apart from two-wheelers, all other industry segments have made a strong comeback to pre-Covid levels.
The Jeffries report also states that month-to-date vehicle registrations have shown a strong uptick for passenger and commercial vehicles but were down by 18 per cent for two wheelers during September 2022.
