Bangalore-based electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy a leading electric two-wheeler is getting aggressive on its plans for India. The company today announced the name of its soon-to-be-revealed new scooter will be called the Ather '450X'.

The company has said that the "new product is a step above the Ather 450 you are familiar with and will have new features, better specs, and more intelligent features."

The electric scooter manufacturer has also said that it's giving its community (existing Ather e-scooter owners) and a select few individuals a chance to pre-order the new product before the official launch. In the coming days, Ather will be unveiling details of the new product every day on its social media platforms. This includes the name of the new scooter that is set to be unveiled this week. It'll be interesting to see how Ather one ups the 450 as it is already one of the best electric scooters on sale in India.

It was only last month that Ather Energy signed an MoU for a 400,000 sqft, EV manufacturing facility with the government of Tamil Nadu, at the Investment and Skill Development Conclave in Chennai. The company is now looking to grow its operations across the country. As part of its expansion plan, the company is planning to take Ather Space, its flagship experience centre format, across key cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Kochi, Coimbatore, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

In December the company announced addition to its senior management team, with Deepak Jain joining the company as its chief financial officer (CFO). According to Tarun Mehta, co-founder and CEO, Ather Energy, "Deepak’s experience in leading teams and integrating manufacturing and business processes will play a key role in the next part of our story."

While, the conventional engine vehicle industry has been going a little slow in its plans, the electric vehicle industry has seen some major updates be it the unveil of the Bajaj Chetak in an electric avatar last year, or Tata Motors revealing the electric Nexon SUV recently.
