Ather 450 Apex to be quickest, most powerful Ather e-scooter yet
New Apex, which will sit at the top of the current Ather range of e-scooters, will get a 3.7 kWh battery and is set to be launched soon.
Ather Energy is making speedy moves to protect its turf in the fast-growing and also competitive Indian electric two-wheeler marketplace. The Bengaluru-based smart e-scooter maker is set to up the ante with a new product soon.
Ather has now issued a teaser of the upcoming 450 Apex, which will be its most powerful product yet and will sit at the top of its current lineup of e-scooters. Ather CEO Tarun Mehta, revealed in a recent social media post that the 450 Apex would be “the fastest Ather yet”.
The 450 Apex is likely to be powered by the same 3.7kWh battery as the current 450X. The motor, however, is likely to be more powerful than the one on the 450X, which is rated for 6.4kW/26Nm. The Ather 450 Apex might also break the 100kph threshold and could also have a better 0-40kph acceleration time in comparison to the already zippy Ather 450X.
The 450 Apex could possibly also have transparent side panels, inspired by the Ather 450X Series 1. It is also likely to have different colours to differentiate it from the 450X and 450S.
The 450 Apex will be launched in India soon, possibly even before the 2023 calendar year comes to an end or in early 2024. Expect the 450 Apex to be priced at a premium over the 450X (Rs 168,000) around the Rs 200,000 (ex-showroom) mark.
