A survey conducted by PPG Industries, a paint company, says that the colour white has become the most popular colour for a car after silver remained at top for a decade. An ANI news report stated that 21 percent of vehicles built in 2011 were white, whereas black and silver tied at second with 20 percent each.
As carmakers attempt to tailor their colours to consumer demand, white was the top colour in North America, while black was first in Europe and silver voted most popular in Asia. PPG Industries is also offering other shades for future cars, which include Pot O' Gold, a light green with a hint of gold; White Nougat, a creamy, sparkly white; and Grape Spritz, a blue fused with purple, the report said.
