Ashok Leyland expands Dost dealer network in Maharashtra

Ashok Leyland inaugurated its second Dost small commercial vehicle (SCV) dealership in Navi Mumbai on february 23. The new dealership, M/s. Deogiri Commercial Vehicles, is equipped with brand-new infrastructure and 3S (Sales, Service and Spares) and is the 25th Dost dealership outlet in the country. The Dost is available at a price of Rs 3.93 lakh (ex-showroom Navi Mumbai).

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr V Sumantran, executive vice-chairman, Hinduja Automotive and chairman, Nissan Ashok Leyland Powertrain, said: “Since we launched last October, the Dost has been receiving very encouraging response from the markets where we have launched it, for its performance which is reflected in our healthy order position. We are very keen to broadbase our market and by increasing our network of customer touchpoints, we will be better placed to reach and service our customers. Internally, we have been consistently ramping up our production at our brand-new lines at Hosur to adequately meet market needs,” he added. Dost, the first SCV from the Ashok Leyland-Nissan joint venture, is currently available in four southern states (Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka), Maharashtra and Gujarat. It is available in three versions with the top-end version featuring air-conditioning, power steering, dual-colour beige-gray trim and fabric seats. The vehicle is powered by a 55bhp, 3-cylinder 1.5-litre common-rail TDCR engine that is tuned for fuel economy, driveability and gradeability required for Indian roads.

Ashok Leyland offers Ready-to-Use Vehicles (RUVs) on the Dost platform for various applications such as refrigerated containers, steel containers, ambulance, aluminium fixed side decks and service-at-site vehicles.
