Apollo Tyres wins national Intellectual Property award

Apollo Tyres has won the National Intellectual Property Award for the year 2020 in the category of ‘Top Indian Company/ Organisation for Designs & Commercialisation’.

In a recently held virtual award ceremony, jointly organised by the Indian Intellectual Property Office and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Minister for Commerce and Industry, government of India, Piyush Goyal conferred Onkar Kanwar, Chairman, Apollo Tyres Ltd with this prestigious award. National IP Awards are conferred by Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (CGPDTM), Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India to outstanding innovators, organisations and companies in the fields of patents, designs, trademarks and geographical indications.

Apollo Tyres received this award for its company’s Intellectual Property (IP) registrations, both in terms of quality and quantity. The company has filed for 75 design registrations cumulatively for India and abroad, between 2017 and 2019, with the IP office in India for design portfolio.
