Anand bags HR Excellence Award 2012

New Delhi, December 11, 2012: Component major Anand has received the HR Excellence Award 2012 by the National HRD Network (NHRDN). The award was presented at the 16th Annual Conference of NHRDN held at Hyderabad yesterday.

NHRDN is the largest body representing human resource (HR)professionals in India with over 13,000 members and 30 chapters across the country. Biennially, it recognises individuals and organisations who have made noteworthy contributions in the area of HR development in the corporate sector, academic sphere and broader business and Social arena. K S Bhullar, president - Group HR while receiving the ‘Trailblazer Award’ commented: “This award to Anand validates the Group’s HR efforts to create a ‘Great place to work’ while moving forward in its aspiration to excel as a world-class organisation.”

The citation by the National HRD network on Anand stated: “Anand is also widely recognised as a pioneer of Human Resource initiatives over the last five decades, and many of its people practices today are considered as industry benchmarks. Inspired by Deep C Anand, founder of the Group, HR practices in the Group have been revolutionary and farsighted.

Irrespective of the location or JV partner, HR practices have remained common to all its companies, binding the Group together. Whether it be an unconventional approach to transforming shopfloors with the ‘The Operating Engineers’ model pioneered by Anand or the employment of women on its machines, they are all recognised as unique benchmark practices throughout the industry and emulated by many.

In totality, the story of Anand stands strong testimony to the power of partnership and to the management of Human Resources.”

Anand is among India’s leading manufacturers of automotive systems and components and has a major presence in the Indian aftermarket as well. The Group supplies to every major vehicle and engine manufacturer in the country. Anand, which recorded a sales turnover of Rs 5,000 crore in 2011, has 15 joint ventures and 6 technical collaborations with leading automotive companies worldwide.
